5 Minute Cricket. An exercise in 3-D skills.

It's no surprise that my job as a graphic designer has caused some... um... deficiencies in my physical abilities. Not to say that I'm ready to roll down the street, but it is fair to say that I sit in my chair way more than is healthy.

So, I'm working on taking more breaks, and practicing real-life interaction with the world.

My new favorite activity is throwing darts. This isn't the ole' beer & bar scene darts, or darts at your friend's house who has an old plastic-tipped dart set kind of darts, but the watch-out-for-your-toes and hide-the-kids kind of darts.

Steel tips, baby.

Now that we have our very own dartboard in the studio, a mere 15 feet away from my desk, well, let's just say I am looking forward to computer-screen breaks :) And honing my skills so I can win big in Vegas.

Here are the results from day one of 5-Minute Cricket, an exercise in 3-D skills. I didn't photograph the very first toss, because it was embarrassingly awful, but here is toss #2 through the end of my little break. Scoring is a bit of a cheat - because I'm doing it after the fact, and get to have hindsight for choosing the number value or the double / triple score... but that's OK :)

Not bad, huh?

Oh - and I didn't include annotations for which dart was 1, 2 or 3, but notice the toss with the red bullseye, only 2 darts are on the board and one is on the floor -- hee hee hee, #1 hit the red bull, #2 hit the floor, #3 hit the 20... I obviously need to work on consistency :)
